GoI-UNDP Disaster Risk Management Programme
in Maharashtra State
The Programme:
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India and United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP) are implementing the project entitled "Disaster Risk Management
(DRM) Programme" in Maharashtra in consultation with Relief and Rehabilitation
identified as the State Nodal Department of Government of Maharashtra. The Ministry
of Home Affairs, Government of India is the executing agency of the programme
and UNDP is implementing the project in association with the Relief and Rehabilitation,
Revenue and Forests Department, Government of Maharashtra.
The programme is being implemented in 17 states in India including
Maharashtra in a phased manner. In Maharashtra, the programme is being implemented
in 14 identified districts and seven major cities. The implementation period
of the programme is 2003-2007.
